Face to Face Appointments in Clinic

Do you have any of these symptoms?

• Fever                                            • Diarrhoea
• Cough                                          •  Nausea or muscle pain
• Sore throat                                  • Fatigue
• Runny nose                                 • Headaches
• Shortness of breath                   • Change in smell or taste

If you have an appointment while you are unwell with any of the above symptoms we ask that you change your appointment to Telehealth or rebook to a later date where possible.

If a face to face appointment is necessary while you are unwell, please call and speak to Reception or one of our Nurses as we have specific procedures for infection control, including the patient waiting outside or in their car and with the Doctor wearing PPE during the consultation. Please call well in advance so we can best prepare for your appointment. A Covid-19 RAT test must also be completed on the day, prior to coming to your appointment.

If you have tested positive to Covid or a Covid-19 close contact and you need an appointment within 7 days, as per SA Health advice we ask you book a telehealth appointment. Please call and speak to our nurses if you feel an in-clinic appointment is necessary. This also applies to symptomatic patients at any time.

Telehealth Appointments

To be eligible for Medicare rebates on telehealth fees you must have had a face to face appointment in the clinic in the last 12 months. Please note that there may be circumstances when your doctor will need to arrange a face-to-face consultation after your Telehealth consultation, in order to complete their assessment and examination.

Adelaide Health Care requires private billing for telehealth consultations in line with all consultation costs. This means that there may be a fee payable for your phone consultation. You will receive a phone call from our reception staff after your consultation to make the payment.

If you have an existing appointment and you would like to change to Telehealth please ring us on 84100774.

To prepare for your telephone appointment, view the “Telehealth – Getting the most out of your appointment” Factsheet

Masks

As of October 1st 2023, mask usage at Adelaide Health Care will be voluntary for both patients and staff. This means you can choose whether or not to wear a mask during your visit if you are well. Some Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health practitioners may still request mask usage in consultation rooms. Please help us maintain a safe environment by continuing to monitor for any viral illness and advise Reception at the time of booking.
